Abstract

Nowadays, the tourism with inappropriate approach and incompatible execution will be transformedintostaging tourism, where this phenomenon makes no difference to a zoo or a museum.And Ironically, tourism is supposed to give contribution in improving the living standard of the local community, it turns out that it resulted a negative impact on their economy. Kampung Naga is one of cultural heritage villages in Indonesia that become a tourist attraction.How is the tourism in Kampung Naga?In the case of architecture, is there any implication on the vernacular houses? What kind of tourism that should be the best solution?A qualitative approach is adopted in investigating the cases. This study is expected to find the implementation of current tourism in Kampung Naga and its implication on vernacular houses. The study result shows that a passive tourism is occurred in Kampung Naga and give implication on the vernacular houses.
